I do, I do!

Not to mention mermaids, pirates, Wendy birds, and that a little pixie dust and happy thoughts can really make you fly. No, I'm not crazy. But I did watch Peter Pan.

For those of you who don't remember, in 2003, the first true Peter Pan live-action movie was released (and the first to star a boy in the titular role!). And it's truly magical. I wouldn't say its a love relationship between Peter and Wendy, but for the first time, there really the possibility that there could be something beneath the surface...and consequently all the more sad when they part at the end of the film. All the actors are great, especially Ludivine Sagnier as Tinkerbell and Jason Isaacs as Hook (and of course Mr. Darling, as is the ago-old tradition). The music is also fantastic! I just realized that the music in Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams" commercial comes from this movie (odd, since it's not a Disney movie).

So if you like the Peter Pan story, I definitely recommend watching this movie! You can find it for incredibly cheap (between $5-$10), and it's definitely worth adding to a Peter Pan collection. (My Peter Pan collection will be growing again, too - I just ordered Disney's version from Amazon!)

In other news, I'm on Spring Break this week, which is wonderful. I think I'll go see 300 today or tomorrow after reading several people's favorable reactions here on LJ. It looks so good, and I haven't seen a good movie (in theaters) in a long time!

Last night at Barnes and Noble I bought a nice hardcover edition of Grimm's Fairy Tales. I've been wavering on getting the really beautiful leather-bound edition that they sell, but I couldn't rationalize it to myself when there was a nice hardcover for less than half the cost. I'm slowly collecting fairy tale and mythology compilations (like the wonderful mythology book by Edith Hamilton), and this is a nice addition to that collection.

Also, I saw this fun Harry Potter quiz, and just had to do it! I'm already very excited about the HP-heavy summer approaching.

I am Xavier Harcourt Seerdagger, the mischievous youngest son of a feared wealthy pureblood family. I am short and well-proportioned, with dark blond hair worn long and loose around my shoulders and soft blue eyes, possessing a great love of practical jokes and a learning disability. I'm a third-year Ravenclaw, excelling in Herbology and barely scraping by in Care of Magical Creatures. In my spare time, I like to listen to Muggle music on my magical iPod, and when I graduate from Hogwarts, I want to be a scholar and keep learning things.

Who are you at Hogwarts?
