Thankfully midterms are over because otherwise I would go on a rampage. Thankfully, I did well on all my tests.

We found out our last grade today, which was the test we took on Friday. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dreaming_faerie, I got curious about Nostalgia Critic. So most of last Thursday night before my test was spent dying of lulz listening to his reviews! Yay for priorities! XD

But the last test really did suck, and I went away on my overnight trip feeling bad about it. And last night I even had another one of those "YOU FAILED NOW YOU'RE THROWN OUT OF PHARMACY SCHOOL" nightmares that plagued me last semester. So it was a big sigh of relief when I saw that 83% this morning.

Weekend trip was nice - visited with my brother and spent some time at the ocean and shopping. Retail Therapy, I choose you!

But I'm still tired. The Lab I TA for was canceled for this week OMG SO GLAD, and I don't have any of my labs scheduled as well, so I spent the afternoon watched more Masters of the Universe. My gosh, I love that show - it does so much to develop the mythology of Eternia and the characters.

But DAC (my committee) has a speaker coming this Thursday, so yay more coordination!

Also, I have not forgotten about taking pics of the Italian Winx! But I may just wait until my new three arrive to debox/photograph them all.

Tomorrow I finish up the first round of midterms for the 2nd year of Pharmacy school. They will probably not be pretty, due in large to me getting completely sick last week (and therefore not being able to focus on studying). Of course, it doesn't help that the material seems 10x harder than last year; the teachers are piling on the drugs to know!

Also tomorrow I leave to spend the next 2.5 days in Southern California. I'm attending a Pharmacy conference for CSHP (California Society of Health-System Pharmacists), and it's being held at the Disneyland Hotel! So I get to not only go to Conference, but Disneyland as well (and visit my friends down there at the same time)! ^____^ I'm really excited right now.

Except for having a 6-8 hour (depending on LA traffic) drive. Boo. Also, I will be running on approximately no sleep, so yay for Starbucks and energy drinks! XD

Also, I am having a riotous good time playing Brandon ([livejournal.com profile] brandon_rf) in the current Winx Club RPG ([livejournal.com profile] winxclubrpg and the various personal journals). It's my first time RPing ever, and it's very addicting (like, I should be studying, but keep checking if there are any new updates). I think my hotel down in Anaheim will have free wireless, so I should be able to keep up while I'm gone too. :)
Maybe this will give me the impetus to finally sit down and really work on my Brandon/Flora/Mirta friendship fic that's been kicking around in the back of my mind for months.

Well, that would require actually having time to work on writing and doing things like actually updating my Jewel Riders fic on Fanfiction.net. Ah school, you are driving me to a quick grave this year.

Well, Midterms are over again for another year, and Finals lay ahead in another month-and-a-half. Overall, the tests went alright, though Friday's was a real killer (especially coming right on the tail of the double-test day on Thursday).

I basically lived on coffee/energy drinks and snacks for the whole week. SO unhealthy for me, but it was the only way I could stay awake with only 5-6 hours of sleep per night (I generally need around 7-8 to function "normally").

I promised myself I wouldn't do much work over this weekend, and I've stuck to that directive pretty well. :D Friday I came home and basically crashed out after treating myself to the newest He-Man series (2002) on DVD at Target. I've wanted to watch this series for some time. After finding the original series a little hard to get into, I'm hoping this one can help me fall in love with the Masters of the Universe world. After I finish it, I'll probably t

Ahh, I do so love my retail therapy; there's not much it can't cure. XD

Dad, Mom, and I also took a trip to Fresno on Saturday to visit Grandma as sort of a late Valentines visit, and took her to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory (far and away my favorite restaurant - love the Crispy Chicken Costoletta!). On the way home I watched There's Something About Mary, which I've heard so much about, but never actually got around to watching. It was amusing, if not exactly my thing. And when we got home, my parents wanted to watch The Pursuit of Happyness which was a great movie - definitely worth watching. It really makes you think about how much you'd be willing to give up to accomplish your dream, and if what you're doing at the current time in your life is truly your dream. Gave me lots to ponder.

This morning, I was finally able to sleep in (10 hours - woot!) and felt almost human after waking up. I've been dying to see Spiderwick Chronicles (gotta support the fantasy movies!) since it came out, and drug Mom along with me (for lack of anyone else around here interested in going). Having not read the books - despite almost checking them out several times at the library - I wasn't really sure what to expect going into the film. So I was pleasantly surprised (by the PG-13 rating, among other things) that I really enjoyed the movie. Freddie Highmore is always a pleasure to watch (he was great in both Finding Neverland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and having seen him finally mature in last year's August Rush really made me interested in seeing where his career goes). It was extra fun because he played twins too! All of the supporting actors were great as well. This means that I have to buy the books now though, if only to see how the two differ. I'm having deja vu from back when I watched A Series of Unfortunate Events and ended up reading the whole series. XD And just to tack this on a the end, but the music was awesome - James Horner, I believe. There's another soundtrack to add to my Amazon Wishlist.

And we got a preview for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as well! I'll say here is: AWESOME. I'm definitely excited for May 22!
However, our theater raised the prices (again!), was full of kids and smell a little like rancid butter, which was definitely NOT a plus. Oh well, the fun and charm of the movie made up for it!

Now back to the reality of Pharmacy School!

...is probably the best way to describe how I'm feeling right now. Sort of like I'm straddling the fence between health and sickness (I've woken up with a thick/sore throat the last couple of days now...) With midterms right around the corner (only four more days! @_@), I've had less and less sleep. Caffeine is basically sustaining me right now. Oh, and brief breaks for Christine Morgan's Gargoyles fanfiction and Disney Fairies books, which are both gloriously different from hormones, neurology and the like. (I haven't finished them all yet, but so far Lily's Pesky Plant has been my favorite, which was a complete shock. I wasn't really looking forward to it, but the Lily/Iris friendship really wormed its way into my heart!)

But seriously, when next week is over, I'm definitely going to need some serious retain therapy (Maybe Emmy Rossum's CD? Or perhaps hunting down one of the Once Upon a Time books?). Actually, I might just go for a "Barnes and Noble cupcake/White Mocha Therapy," but we'll see when the time comes. ^_~

The weekend after midterms I plan to do absolutely no studying. I'll probably just dig into Trickster's Choice and finish it up after leaving the poor book 1/3 finished for over a month now...>_< I should probably spend some quality time with the Piano, Sketch Pad, and Writing (maybe start on one of those Dragon Flyz fanfics, maybe?), as they have all been incredibly neglected during the build-up to Midterms. I'm also dying to see the Spiderwick Chronicles movie, despite not having read the books. I don't really have anyone to go with me though, so I'll probably wait until it's on Discount Tuesday.

Oh, and for Valentine's Day, my mom bought me the new Sarah Brightman CD: Symphony. And all I have to say is AMAZING. It's Sarah's first studio album in four years, and was well worth the wait! The mood of the album is slightly gothic, and very richly choral, which is something new for Sarah. I can already tell this one will stay in my CD player for a good long time.

Well, my IBS (Integrated Biological Sciences) Midterm was a bitch, even though I've been studying for it for days now. But I expected that. University-level science has never come easy to me, but 102 questions later I'm really considering a deep change in my study methods (aka, don't try to absorb tons of stuff at the last minute). I might even *gasp* have to look into forming a study group (at least to be able to bounce questions regularly off of other people without feeling like TEH STOOPID.

So tomorrow (or I guess it's today by this point...) I have my Pharmacy Calculations and Statistics Midterm, which I'm not too worried about (have aced most of the quizzes), but Wednesday its IPS (Integrated Pharmaceutical Sciences), which gives me great pause. I haven't put nearly the time into that class have I have into IBS (even though they're probably the same difficulty). So JOY, I have about a day to prepare for another hard test. We end on Thursday with the Pharmacy Systems Midterm, which should be alright. Oh, and then I'm going to Borders for a coffee and some serious retail therapy. XD

***POSSIBLE MINOR HEROES SPOILERS IF YOU CONTINUE*** (Not really though)

And WTF Heroes is turning into Star Trek reunion. George Takei, Dominic Keating (from Enterprise), and now Nichelle Nichols too! Are they trying to beat out Gargoyles for most Star Trek Alum guest appearances or something? Oh and I really hope Katie Carr stays with the show. I love her as Peter's new love interest. But I might be slightly biased because I loved her in the the Dinotopia TV-miniseries (the one with Wentworth Miller). I had a little "SQUEE! DINOTOPIA!" moment when I first saw/recognized her on Heroes. Then of course I had to go look up Dinotopia online and found out that a new book is out this month! I'm definitely going to have to add that to my library soon. Those books are worth it almost for the art alone.
