Big surprise! I broke my buying moratorium. Were you shocked? Me neither. XD

BUT. I did not break it for just anything. Oh no.

TONNER finally made something that I desperately HAD to have, and of course it was a Comic Con exclusive, sold through a different company, and in a limited edition of 300.

Zatanna, Mistress of Magic!

An image from the Con:

This lady is arguably my favorite DC Universe character. Her small appearances in the DC animated universe were enough to make me totally fall for her. I've been waiting to see Tonner do her for their DC Stars line for AGES, only to find her marketed through Action Figure Express (AFX). Well, needless to say, she's pre-ordered. And I am much poorer. This sets a benchmark for the most I've ever paid for a single doll or toy (a record previously held by my Pullip Prunella).

On a semi-related note, I broke moratorium again for the SDCC/Wizard World 2004 She-Ra. She's a gorgeous addition to my small 200X line (which I really need to flesh out a bit more).

However, she (and the fact that I saw Bow coming next January) have really got me taking a second look at the Masters of the Universe Classics line (sold exclusively through Mattycollector.com). I pretty much swore off this line originally in favor of picking up the 200X line. While that is still my basic intention, I realized that MOTUC is producing a variety of figures that have no counterpart in the 200X line - the upcoming Bow, Adora, She-Ra (can't really count the 2004 exclusive as part of the line!), He-Ro, the Goddess, King Grayskull, etc. I was thinking it would be fun to pick up this type of figure from the MOTUC line while getting the "normal" ones from the 200X line (which I still think has better sculpts overall). So I might try and get Adam/Orko to seed this collection. Not quite sure yet.

On a completely unrelated note, I passed both of my Pharmacy Licensure exams! Now I get to wait impatiently for the Board of Pharmacy to issue me my license number.

And also a big thank-you to [livejournal.com profile] iyreia for the awesome souvenir from the zoo! It's beautiful! I hope to pick you up something just as awesome when I head to the Walt Disney museum soon. :)

That's awesome. I have the first Supergirl Tonner did from a few years back, and I absolutely love her. I wanted that She-Ra too, but the person I sent with my money to get it forgot :( I'll just have to hunt one down off of ebay later.

She'll be my first sixteen incher, so I'm pretty excited about that too. Let's hope this doesn't open a new door to more expensive collectibles!

She-Ra's well worth the money! I picked her up on ebay for $25, but with shipping it ended up being more around $38. But between her and the new MOTUC She-Ra, Adora, and upcoming Bow and Swift Wind it's like POP is getting a second toy awakening!
