Top Dolls of 2009!

There were so many good dolls and toys that I got in 2009 that it was hard to pick just ten, but here goes!
10. Pullip - Veritas

With her awesome captain's outfit (OMG the hat) and cool wine-red tresses, Veritas (rechristened Mercedes) was sure to make this list.
9. Disney Fairies - Terence

Can you imagine my utter joy at finding such an awesome little Terence? There have been several Terence toys this year (finally), but this one from the Disney Store best captures his cheerful demeanor.
8. Winx Club (Mattel) - Bloom and Sky Engagement Set

I can't separate these two. They're part of one set, and will stay that way on my list. Bloom's dress is unfortunately the wrong shade of blue, but lovely nonetheless. And I think I'm on a quest to collect every one of the Specialist boys.
6 & 7. Star Trek (Barbie) - Kirk and Uhura

I loved the new Star Trek movie and wanted the Barbie Collector dolls from the beginning, but I'm glad I waited for them and got Kirk, Spock, and Uhura for a great deal. They're by far the best Star Trek likenesses out there and beat the hell out of the fugly action figures.
5. Pullip - Prunella

With her lovely aqua hair, warm brown eyes, and cute goth-loli outfit, it's no wonder Prunella (rechristened Sariel) is one of the best-selling Pullips at Pullip Style. She's really, really gorgeous.
4. Winx Club (Giochi Preziosi) - Layla

This was the doll that really surprised me with how much I loved her. She may have even had something to do with me liking Layla's character more in Season 4! But in the end I may just like her because she seems to be one of the most faithful transitions from screen to doll.
3. Winx Club (Giochi Preziosi) - Icy

All the Giochi Trix are amazing, but Icy really caught me at first sight. Even though her hair's the wrong color (WTF, why is it blue when the series is so clearly white?), she's got Icy's frosty bitch smile, which is just awesome. Plus, her cape is just rockin'.
2. Winx Club (Simba) - Winx in Concert Stella

All of the Simba Winx are amazing (Believix and Rocker lines anyway), but the orange and black outfit of this Stella (my fave Winx girl) really pushed her to the top.
1. Tie! Pullip - Clarity & Taeyang - Shade

These two "siblings" arrived together and have been pretty inseparable ever since. Clarity was my first Pullip, and remains my favorite (though her personality may have something to do with that). Shade (rechristened Brevity), with his Holmes-esque outfit, tops my list of cool. I also like that they complement each other in a weird Neo-Victorian kind of way.
Runner Ups:
Disney Fairies - Vidia

Poor Vidia. She's been so shafted when it comes to Disney Fairies toys. I think there are about three toys of her in existence, including this lovely specimen from the same line as Terence. She's definitely one of the coolest characters in the DF franchise.
Winx Club (Simba) - Believix Layla, Tecna, Roxy

These are just breathtaking dolls. It's a shame they were only released in Europe.
Winx Club (Mattel) - Daphne

Despite being barely poseable and having the mask permanently attached to her hand, Daphne is a nice study in orange. :)
Winx Club (Giochi Preziosi) - Casual Darcy

I always liked Darcy's casual outfit - the only thing that could make this better would be if she had her awesome orange glasses!
Star Trek (Mattel) - Spock

I'm not as fond of him as the other two, but he's still pretty awesome. I am a bit of a Kirk/Uhura shipper after all. :)
10. Pullip - Veritas
