So I've been pretty notably absent for the last couple of weeks, which is so sad. What can I say? School is already pressing down on me like a two ton walrus. XD

So, updates!

SCHOOL: Hard, yet boring, with a sleep-deprived aftertaste. It's kind of sick when I think that Pharmacy Law might be my most interesting class right now. Though Toxicology is pretty awesome. Poisons!
General Pharmaceutical Care and Renal/Respiratory Care are both hampered by boring-as-dirt teachers, during classes that COULD be interesting into a fight against somnolence.

But we pick Rotations sites in a week. I have number 80 out of 230, so I kind of lucked out, and am hoping I can get my #1 choice. :)

CHOIR: Back in session! We have a new director for the remainder of the season, which I'm really grateful for. What's really weird is that he was our old director's music teacher back in Venezuela. Oh, small world. But I'm really glad I'll at least be able to sing until I leave for Rotations.

PIANO: Chugging along. Still don't get to practice often enough.

READING: Peter and the Starcatchers is the current book, and very fun so far. I'm excited to see how it turns out! But it's definitely not fun to limit myself to about 20 pages a night - makes me feel like I'll never get through it. D:

WATCHING: Outlaw Star and Angel Links. I can't express how much I enjoyed these two anime series. I feel like it's been a long time since I've had such fun watching anime. Maybe it helps that they're, like, 10+ years old. XD Oh me and my nostalgia. To think that series I passed over when they were new are now like unmined gems waiting to be discovered! I think I'm going to be on an old anime kick for a bit now. :)

RANDOM: I'm so excited - I finally ordered more Italian Winx dolls! My Brandon has been lonely for some time now, so I ordered Sky, Stella, Bloom, and Flora. Sky, Stella, and Bloom were all from Tons of Toys, and Flora was from Ebay. All together, the bill came to $191, which was kind of on the pricey side, but on the flip side they're all getting harder to find, so it was better to not wait. :D So excited!

Which Italians did you get? Like, which outfits? I always like to know the details!

Stella, Bloom, and Flora are all the original (12 inch tall) fairy outfits with the new hairstyle (because those were half the price of the actual originals!)

Sky is in his Specialist outfit. I seem to remember that both he and Brandon used to also come in their season 1 casual outfits, but I can't find those for the life of me. Do you remember anything like that?

I wanted the 12 inch ones because they would match the Brandon that I already have. I'm kind of a stickler for having sets like that. :)

Yup, they used to make the casual boys. I have Sky and had Brandon at one point. I bought Casual Sky and Specialist Brandon when they came out, but I got given a few of the others. I think I gave Chris Specialist Sky. Not sure where Casual Brandon ended up. Maybe with Michael?

Here are their pics (from my old Italian doll guide stash):

Wow...just, wow. Casual Brandon is something else. What's up with that outfit? :)

Do you own any of the girls that I ordered? What's your opinion against the Mattel versions?

The only fairy outfit girl I ever had was the original Layla. I have an odd variety of them. I have the boys I mentioned, both versions of each witch, three of the Eveningwear 2 line (my favorite fairy line), Denim outfit Musa wearing her stage fashion from "Magic in My Heart," a Tecna with crazy purple eyelashes, a few Stellas, Bloom in the cute pink sweater outfit I love, a few pixies, and a few of the 10" girls.

I like them all. They're not as high quality as the Mattel dolls, but they have a lot more outfit and character variety. And the witches actually have their makeup on, which Mattel was too wussy to do with Icy. Mattel ones have superior bodies with the bendable aspect. Each company has their strengths.

If you're bored sometime and want to check out my Winx dolls, these are the entries in my doll community that are about them:

Also, I read through the whole Shaharyar storyline a couple days ago and quite enjoyed it. It was nice to see the minor cast doing something fun.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Shaharyar plotline! :)

I'd like to do a review of them for the Winx community when they all arrive, if that's all right.

Even though I like the Mattel dolls, I think I've really fallen for the Italians (Heh. Probably because they made a Brandon!). It also surprises me that you can get an Italian Musa or Tecna cheaper than the equivalent Mattel ones now on ebay.

Oh, any doll reviews are awesome. I always encourage them, since they're so few and far between these days.

Do you like your new status? ;)

I was so surprised - it came out of the blue!

What exactly are my duties as a maintainer? I'd like to perform them well! :)

There really aren't any. If someone breaks one of the rules, you can warn them. They get two strikes before being banned, unless it's a really serious issue. Then they're just gone.

You'll probably get the "new member request" emails, but I usually do the new member admittance, because I have a few of the banned member IPs memorized. They're floating around in [profile] winx_mods, which you should join. If you want to read the past entries and write down the IPs, then you can admit people, too. I just don't like the idea of some banned members sneaking back in, so I try to avoid it. Some have created new IDs and tried to get readmitted, but I've always caught them. :)
