☆ What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Went on Pharmacy Rotations, got tonsillitis, sent off seven giant applications for Residency programs.
☆ Did you keep your new years resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Hmm...not well. I gained some weight back after starting rotations, so that's an area to work on again starting Monday! But I did get back to writing some more, which was nice.
☆ Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! One of my dear pharmacy school friends gave birth in September to a healthy baby boy!
☆ Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully no. 2009 was a nicely death-free year.
☆ What countries did you visit?
My vacations were mostly mental. Can I count Oz?
☆ What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A residency! But if not that, then at least a real pharmacy job. And maybe a BJD.
☆ What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 7th - the day I finished my didactic bookwork for pharmacy school.
☆ What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Probably finishing the bookwork and half of the Rotations for pharmacy school.
☆ What was your biggest failure?
Keeping contact with the outside world. This is fairly typical of me, however.
☆ Did you suffer illness or injury?
I got a fairly nasty cold and had a bout of tonsillitis.
☆ What was the best thing you bought?
I'm torn between my Pullips/Taeyangs and Winx toys!
☆ Whose behaviour merited celebration?
The 40+ people who wished me a happy birthday on Facebook. It bowled me over!
☆ Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My preceptor at Nuclear Pharmacy who had the nerve to give me some bad marks for things that were his fault. Also CVS for trying to blackmail me after I didn't want to sign with them and apply for residency instead.
☆ Where did most of your money go?
Somewhere between Pullips, Winx, and books. This may be the first year that dolls and toys outstripped books as a percentage of my overall spending.
☆ What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Seeing Wicked in San Francisco! Seeing King Tutankhamun's treasures (also in SF!). Starting Rotations and moving that much closer to Graduation. Only 4.5 months to go!
☆ What song will always remind you of 2009?
Tiana's song "Almost There" from the Princess and the Frog.
☆ Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?: happier, I guess? I'm getting much closer to my goal.
ii. thinner or fatter?: middling.
iii. richer or poorer?: With all my loans accruing, I'm definitely poorer.
☆ What do you wish you'd done more of?
Hung out with friends more. Write more often.
☆ What do you wish you'd done less of?
Complaining. But so many things frustrated me at school this last year. At least it was mildly cathartic.
☆ How did you spend Christmas?
We had the Christmas hosting marathon with both sides of the family, then left for SF for a few days afterward. I was totally exhausted by the 28th.
☆ Did you fall in love in 2009?
With Ambulatory Care pharmacy. It's totally where I can see myself being happy working.
☆ How many one-night stands?
Haha. NONEthatisgrosshopeyoulikeyourSTD.
☆ What was your favorite TV programme?
Merlin, Legend of the Seeker, Winx Club Season 4, Avatar: The Last Airbender
☆ Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
CVS. I may die if I end up working there.
☆ What was the best book you read?
This question is practically unanswerable. However, Peter and the Shadow Thieves/Peter and the Secret of Rundoon, the Ranger's Apprentice series, and this year's Disney Fairies books were all really enjoyable.
☆ What was your greatest musical discovery?
The soundtrack to Wicked.
☆ What did you want and get?
Pullips and Taeyangs, Simba Winx
☆ What did you want and not get?
A lessening in my workload.
☆ What was your favorite film of this year?
Oooh, this is a hard one. I loved Star Trek, Avatar, Ponyo, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and The Princess and the Frog, though.
☆ What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned twenty-four, and met up with friends for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. My rotation place at the time gave me the next day off too (which was a Friday), so I had a lovely three-day weekend after that.
☆ What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Same as last year: Actually accomplishing and finishing several writing projects.
☆ How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Business casual? Tie and lab coat?
☆ What kept you sane?
Reading, writing, good shows to watch.
☆ Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
The casts of Merlin and Legend of the Seeker.
☆ What political issue stirred you the most?
The Recession? Or rather its effects?
☆ Who did you miss?
John, but at least I got to see him at Christmas. Also, rotations meant I didn't get to see my school friends on a daily basis like before.
☆ Who was the best new person you met?
The pharmacy staff at my Psychiatry rotation. They were just so nice!
☆ Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:
Apparentely patients at the VA hospital are Chatty Cathys.
☆ Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
And I'm almost there, I'm almost there
People down here think I'm crazy, but I don't care
Trials and tribulations have had my share
There ain't nothing gonna stop me now cause I'm almost there
In 2010...
☆ Will you be looking for a new job?
Hopefully my residency apps will lead to something!
☆ Will you be looking for a new relationship?
Who knows? My life will probably go through a huge upset this coming summer, though, so it's not like I'll be looking.
☆ New house?
Yup - hopefully either in Sacramento, Reno, or Loma Linda this coming July.

To be done with school!
☆ What would you like to see happen different?
Being paid to work instead of paying to work.

Hopefully my weight.
☆ What happened in '09 that you didn't think would ever happen?
I finally watched Avatar: The Last Airbender. I'd only had it for, what, five years?
☆ Will you be nicer to the people you care about?
Hopefully. I never try to be mean. :]
☆ Will you dress differently this year than you did in '08?
Hopefully I'll dress better. Losing more weight = new clothing racks opening up
☆ Will you start or quit drinking?
I'll never drink.
☆ Will you better your relationship with your family?
I hope so. I've thankfully never had a bad relationship with my family, but being away from them most of the time make me feel more kindly.
☆ Will you do charity work?
We'll see if starting work leaves me any time.
☆ Will you go to bars?
Never.
☆ Will you be nice to people you don't know?
I always hold the door open for people...does that count? And what about forcing a smile for bitchy patients?
☆ Do you expect '10 to be a good year for you?
That depends on a great deal of things.
☆ How much did you change from this time last year til now?
More haggard appearance?
☆ Do you plan on having a child?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO.
☆ Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now?

With a little bit o bloomin' luck.
