I was looking at my bank account, and figuring in what I'll be earning the rest of the month from work...and counting other expenses (church, Mom's birthday, automatic savings) I realized I'm unable to make any personal purchases until early to mid June. Well, if I want to keep my bank account from looking totally anemic. *sigh*

I probably shouldn't have bought that casual Darcy on impulse on eBay, but she was such a good price I just couldn't pass her up! Or that Casual Mattel Layla - I only need Musa to complete that set now. Except the only one I found was, like, 60 euros from Germany so I think I'll just wait until something better comes along. :D

Foreign toys, you are killing me.

But speaking of foreign toys, my first Taeyang Jade arrived yesterday! I was shocked by how big they are. Somehow, I never imagined them to be that size. XD
I'll hopefully snap a few pictures tomorrow and post them up. But suffice to say, I totally love Taeyangs now, and can't wait for Shade and Clarity to arrive later this month (another giant expense, lol).

So come June, I'm going to order either some of the new Winx Italians or the Mattel Star Trek dolls. I was originally going to order another Pullip (Veritas or Prunella), but the expense would really be out of my range at that point in time. Plus, I want to see how I bond with the other three. Eheh...and since they're bigger than expected, I need to figure out somewhere to put them!

And speaking of Star Trek, I am still on Cloud Nine after seeing it last Saturday night. Seriously, one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Of course, it helps that I'm kind of a Trekkie. :) If you're still on the fence about seeing it, don't be! Go see it!

I've been watching the subs of Winx Season 4, too, and just finished episode 9. It was probably my favorite so far. The writing was better, and it was cool to see King Erendor again (looking totally out of place on Earth). The couples came off nicely as well. And Bloom talked with Helia. And Nabu. By herself. I don't know if this has ever happened before in the history of Winx! Plus, there was the awesome "Nabu eats a cookie with magic" bit that was just great. And it looks like my faves Stella and Brandon are getting back together. :) Makes me want to do episode reviews with my Stell and Brandon Italians and screencaps!

Star Trek was amaaaaaaaaazing. I expected to not like it very much, but I loved it.

Wasn't it though? I was a little worried that it would flop and probably be the end of the franchise for a long, long time, but was happily proven wrong.

It just did everything right in terms of updating Star Trek for a more modern audience, but simultaneously tapping into the nostalgia and wonderful characters from the old show. :)

Everything you said was EXACTLY how I felt. I was worried that if this movie did bad, it would be the end of Trek for the foreseeable future.

I'd love them to do a new series. I miss watching TNG and DS9 every weekend like when I was a kid, but I'll be happy with just a movie series if that's wall we get. It was done so well.

I know! I have really fond memories of watching Trek (except it was TNG and Voyager for me). The DVDs are (or rather, were) so expensive though! I finally finished getting Voyager, but it's taken me, like, five years. And I only own Season 7 of TNG.

But they've recently come down in price, I see. You can apparently get the whol TNG series for only $250! (http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Next-Generation-Complete/dp/B000RZIGVS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1242189093&sr=8-1) That is an awesome deal.

I'd love a new series, but like you said, I'm totally fine with just a new movie series as well. :D

Yeah, we're in the same boat almost. I totally shouldn't have bought those concert dolls, but dude, how long have we been waiting? It seems like forever, even though I know it hasn't been. I think a lot of us are in kind of a Winx frenzy right now.

But I'm happy I got them because they give me something to look forward to. I have a few things incoming that I'd bought long before, so they'll help me get through this lull.

Winx Frenzy is totally the right way to describe it! It's like I'm seizing everything I can lay my grabby hands on.

My packages (Shade/Clarity, Darcy, and Layla) arriving later will sustain me throughout the rest of this month of no spending. And I can't wait for your review of the Concert dolls!

By the by, do you know the release dates of any future Simba lines? I seem to remember you mentioning August for Love and Pet, but I'm not sure.

I had a fun idea - what if all the mods who have dolls take a few episodes of Season 4 and do screencaps/highlights/lowlights reviews conducted by the dolls? Sort of like a pic fic/review all rolled into one?

Ha! That would be fun. I want to concentrate on my summaries for the moment, but that's definitely something I could do later on. A blooper reel of the errors would be amusing, as well as WTF moments. An outraged Layla should host that!

I'm watching subbed ep 10 right now, but I think I might work on ep 3's summary after it's over. I'm in the mood.

I think we could leave it up to the reviewer which dolls would best serve as hosts. The ones with the most snark potential for the episode. Sort of like actors doing a commentary track was what I had in mind.

How would it work though? I figured we could go in a cycle (like, if there were six of us, the same person would do 1 and 7 so that they would have some breathing room to start on the next one while others work on 2-6).

Yay! I'm going to make a post about it in the Mods comm sometime soon (by that, I mean like a couple of weeks) to see who's interested. And have hopefully done the first episode myself to have an example. But I'm glad you're interested.

It really depends on what dolls you own. If you've got a Flora, I could definitely see you using her. But feel free to use any combination that you'd like - the "set" doll would function as a moderator, I think.

Oh, forgot about the Simba question. I have no clue about release dates. I keep an eye on Pummeldex's board every now and then and no one there even seems to have noticed the Concert line being released.

They're still saying August 10th.

And I shall be selfish and hope that he doesn't notice so I can be the first to post pictures. Because I love when that happens. Heh.

Oh man, I so want more Winx dolls. I'm happy my birthday is coming up to hopefully get some more, but I just seriously want a Roxy doll.

Season 4 has been the best. It especially helps that the animation isn't so stiff, but really spot on this time around.

Yeah, despite the sometimes OOC stuff and slightly rushed feeling of the early episodes, I've really enjoyed Season 4. It's just really nice to have Winx back. :)
