New year is new.
Sep. 7th, 2008 09:57 pmI can't believe I've gone two weeks into my 4th semester without posting anything. For shame! :D
Actually, the truth of the matter is that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment. I knew that Second Year would be a change, but really wasn't prepared for the magnitude of that change. These next three semester will focus more on Pharmaceutical care than last year (which is not a bad thing, but it means a shift in study style). It's more important than ever to daily stay on top of the material now.Something I've never been stellar at.
Also, as one of the second-year co-chairs for the Drug Awareness Committee, I now find myself with extra work in that department. My partner and I have to interview new first-year co-chairs for the DAC, and are trying to put together different programs (through of course, the puppet shows will always be the backbone of our organization). In an effort to update our ancient presentation board (which we use to try and entice the other students to get interested in our organization), I have ordered photos from Snapfish, which I am very eagerly waiting to receive! It's so much wonderfully cheaper when it comes to ordering pictures, and they mail them right to your house (AKA: time saver for me). I'm seriously fed up with trying to print digital pictures at Wal*Mart - it seems as if there's always some problem with the machine/card/USB stick/peoplefailingtousetheirbrains. Seriously, you haven't known true frustration until you've been behind the seriously technically inept trying to use the Kodak machines to print 100 pictures of their great-niece's birthday.
I'm also working weekly at Longs now too - which in case you haven't heard, has been bought out by CVS Pharmacy. I'm surprised that for the most part I find the work rewarding, and getting the paychecks doesn't hurt either. :)
On a non-school note, for anybody who's been wondering what happened to my weight-loss resolution, things are going fairly well. I've lost somewhere around twenty pounds, and certain articles of clothing are actually fitting better now! It's a very nice feeling. ^_^
As far as watching things goes, I just finished the first season of "The Spectacular Spider-Man," which I must admit really charmed me. Maybe that's because I went in with kind of low expectations? I'm not sure, but the characterization was spot-on and really believable. I especially like that Peter's not "locked into" Mary Jane already - he actually has better dynamics with Gwen (love her) and Black Cat at this point (okay, so I've got to admit I love Spider-Man/Black Cat, whether there's romance or not) I'll definitely be buying it when it appears on DVD in stores. Also, it makes me want to watch the 1990s Spider-Man animated series, even if it had the worst CG ever. :)
