I am in dire need of second opinions on possible pen names. Your opinions are all much appreciated!
I've never tried doing a poll here, so apologies in advance if these look really weird!
And of course, if you have any other suggestions (or different combinations that you like) be sure to let me know in the comments!

Date: 2015-03-10 07:46 am (UTC)Yeah, ever since I stumbled on Kanther it's really been calling to me. I think it's the German background calling out to me!

Date: 2015-03-10 07:50 am (UTC)But then I remember that it's the name of the main guy in Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments trilogy and I just groan.

Date: 2015-03-12 03:08 am (UTC)(I admit to reading only the first Mortal Instruments so the groaning is largely lost on me, though the "she thinks her boyfriend is her brother" plot that was dumped on the end made me able to see the shape of the groaning, anyway.)

Date: 2015-03-12 04:53 am (UTC)I have mixed feelings about using Ry, honestly. It's been my online handle for so long that it's hard for me to think of using it for another purpose. Part of me wants to keep Ry just for fannish pursuits...but I still really like it as a first name enough to consider it. Gah! Decisions!
I only made it through the first book as well, and it was plenty for me. And I don't know if you've ever watched the anime 'Marmalade Boy,' but that uses the "ohnoes my boyfriend is my brother!" subplot near the end and ever since then anything that uses it feels so totally over the top to me.

Date: 2015-03-15 07:27 am (UTC)I saw Marmalade boy many moons ago but all I remember is the student/teacher romance which is a thing that's super cute in anime but super creepy in real life. I'm surprised that "my boyfriend is my brother" is a plot that people use ever, it just seems like such a convoluted thing to set up in any way that the characters would find believable.
*yawn* I'm avoiding homework again...
