Not that that's important.
Well...maybe it is...XD
This week saw the writing of my first script since - (when? I'm blanking here)...I know it's not "The Christmas Angel" or "Irish Rose"...XD And not Esther either. Decades Project? Please don't tell me it's actually been that long. It has. About three years (kill me!). Okay, I'm officially a loser at writing. I need to write more. And not school papers. I think I've gotten to the point where I almost forgot that I could do it. And that scares me more than I can possibly put into words. Just because I'm a science major, doesn't give me the personal right to violate one of my favorite hobbies.
I think I'll try to resurrect writing this coming break (if not sooner!). And drawing too...although that hasn't suffered as much (I still draw on an almost weekly basis...although its enough that any meager skills I ever had have begun to slide...XD) Maybe a Winx or Jewel Riders fanfic to get the old juices flowing. I've been tossing around some ideas for those. Not to mention the ideas that have been on the back burner (like Dragon Flyz and a plethora of original works). I can really see now that I've really let myself go in this department. It's gotten to the point where everything is "on the back burner" anymore. It was definitely bad of me to let my creative side wither to this point. Kinda makes you feel like you're dying inside a little. This also may explain my excessive cartoon watching...XD
Sadly, though, the script was still for a class. >_< In Microbiology this week, we had to give group presentations on a drug, and my group was assigned Meropenem (an intravenous antibacterial drug). The Micro teachers really like humorous this (especially skits), so with my group's blessing I spent a couple of hours Monday (it was due on Tuesday, and we were meeting that night to put together the Powerpoint Presentation part of it...XP) hammering out some "rough ideas." Well...it ended up being the entire script. I threw in little jokes here and there (very science-type jokes complete with flagella and vacuoles...XD) - and *gasp* they actually thought they were funny! @_@
Now, anyone who knows me knows that my script-writing history is spotty in the humor department. Often there would be tons of in-jokes or things that my friends and I found funny...but no one else really got. So I was quite pleased with the outcome of this little skit.
It followed the adventures of "Meropenem Man" (a member of the Antibiotic League) as he did battle against the evil brothers Graham-Positive and Graham-Negative. It even had the evil creation Carbapenemasia (based on carbapenemases: the bacterial enzymes that can destroy drugs in the body), and a sidekick Augmentina (based on Augmentin - a drug that helps penicillin-based antibiotics). Although science students aren't generally known for their great acting abilities (though I admit to have taken a theatre class), I felt my group actually did very well. All in all, it was a lot of fun, and it made me really miss the old days.
Anyway, I've been watching more Justice League Unlimited - and it's such an awesome show! ^_^ I never knew that I could actually like the DC characters so much until I watched this show (and other DC animated universe shows).
In other news, I'm also excited for the upcoming Eragon movie due out this December 15! It should prove to be a fun ride! ^_^
Also, I just got Peter Pan in Scarlet this week, and I'm very excited about reading it! I love the Peter Pan story, and since this is the first official sequel, how could I pass it up? Hopefully it's good! ^_^
