Ugh. Sniped at the last minute on Ebay yet again! I really wanted that Prince Adam figure too!

I don't know if it's because I'm trying to avoid studying for midterms, but I have been addicted to Ebay for the last several days. I'm spending FAR too much time there (though thankfully not money).

Current obsessions: Winx Italians, Dinotopia chapter books (I got sniped on a nice lot of those too!), He-Man 2002 figures (so expensive!), and Circle of Magic chapter books.

I don't know why, but lately I've been really loving chapter books. I think it's because they're not only fun, but eminently collectible as well. They bring out my "hunt and collect" instinct. XD

And I'm really loving the 2002 line of Masters of the Universe figures. This is what I get for watching the damn show - the need to now collect something else. I'm needing me some Prince Adam and Teela (Oh OTPs, how you rule my life). And the Sorceress, because her design is 200% awesome. But they go for surprising amounts of money!

Anyway, one Midterm down, two to go. Thankfully we have Thursday off as a study day!

Association Meme: Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.

From [livejournal.com profile] tanz_fanatkia:

1) Brandon
Probably my favorite character in all of Winx Club. In almost every fandom, I end up picking a favorite guy and gal. Often (though not always), they're a couple. Stella is my favorite of the Winx girls (it was Flora for a while, but upon rewatching the series, my Stella love was reaffirmed), and her lines are actually one of my favorite parts of the show. So I guess it's only natural that I grew to love Brandon and Stella as a couple. It helps that they've got the most realistic relationship on the show. :) And now I'm kind of obsessed with Brandon. Like to the point of buying the Italians because they made a Brandon doll.
Plus, I can totally see myself getting along with him really well. XD

2) Jewel Riders
I've been a fan of this show since it first came out in 1995, and have been with the fandom pretty much the whole time. My best friend and I were obsessed with this show and all its related merchandise. I'm on a quest to get all the toys in mint condition (still lacking a Sunstar and the Deluxe line), and still have my original Drake.
But what really keeps this show close to my heart is how creative it inspired me to be. I was doodling fanart and making up fanfics for this show before the internet taught me what those were. XD I'm still writing fanfics for this (you can find part of one on fanfiction.net), and even doodle up some art now and then. :D

3) Enchanted Forest Chronicles (those were so good)
This is my absolute favorite book series. I own the set in five different forms (hardcover, one volume edition, and three different softcover editions), and am hoping to get some more.
I always used to rent them from the library, but they only had the first three. It was like torture, always wondering what happened to Cimorene, Mendanbar and Daystar! It was like pure joy when I discovered the magic of inter-library loan and finally got to read the fourth book.
These books are so witty and amusing, and came out long before it was "hip" to spoof fairy tales. Way ahead of the curve.
The short story "Utensile Strenth" in Patricia C. Wrede's Book of Enchantments short story collection also features these characters, and whenever I read it always makes me hope beyond hope that someday she'll write a fifth book in this series.

4) Disney
I love Disney like whoa. As a child, my mother reminds me that every time I had the chance to pick out a movie to watch on VHS, I would inevitably come back with our copy of 101 Dalmatians. I wanted a Dalmatian so bad. But I got a Sheltie instead. XD Haha...I love her dearly though, and want another one!
But my real love of Disney came about because of my best friend (same one from Jewel Riders), who was obsessed with Snow White and The Little Mermaid. Like to the point of having the entire movies memorized, and reciting them frequently. Well, he now works at Disneyland, but I think because of him I took a real liking to not only Disney, but animation as a whole.
These days I tend to enjoy the more fantasy-style Disney movies like Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Atlantis, etc. But dang if I don't still love Dalmatians. XD

5) Jem
I'm actually a really recent addition to the Jem fandom. I think I watched my first Jem episodes only about two years ago. I still need to finish watching the series, too.
Jem is so different from any cartoon I've ever seen - it's all about pop music, bands, and fame, but for an 80s/90s toon it's incredibly sophisticated. It has some of the best writing I've ever seen in a cartoon. And for that, I love it.
Plus, the dolls came with cassette tapes! How awesome is that?
