Taking in Ancient History

I really have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself yesterday. You could even say that I was in my element...XD
Yesterday we went to San Jose to visit my brother. Seeing as how the weather wasn't the best (threatening clouds overhead), we decided that a mueseum was the best bet, and having heard of "The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum" before (and being one of those ancient-history academic-nerds) I really wanted to go. And boy, was I ever not disappointed!
If you enjoy museums at all, you would surely enjoy this one. Aside from being the largest collection of authentic Egyptian artifacts in the western United States, it is also built to look like the Temple of Amon at Karnak. It also has a research library, peace garden (done in Egyptian style), a planetarium, and even a walk-through tomb recreation!
There were some really great artifacts: one stand-out was a rare statue of Cleopatra VII (one of only 7 statues in the world known for sure to actually represent the Ptolemaic Queen). Also, a replica of Hammurabi's Code, real Papyrus, cuneiform tablets, and some awesome stonework bowls, etc. to name a few things.
Oh, and real mummies. Of everythings...humans, cats, ibis birds...even gazelles...@_@ So awesome.
You can find the link to the museum's website here.
I really recommend checking it out sometime...it's a great experience!
Later that evening, we went to the Cheesecake Factory (my absolute favorite restaurant). The tiramisu is so good there...maybe even better than some of the cheesecakes! (haha...that sounds like heresy!)
So, a good day overall!
